POLITICO reports, “Capitol Hill’s work on an overhaul of the U.S. tax code “will soon begin,” President Donald Trump declared online Wednesday morning, urging lawmakers to “move fast” on one of his top legislative priorities.”

Senate Health Bills Struggle to Win White House Backing
The Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal reports, “Two Senate bills aimed at shaping the future of the Affordable Care Act are facing uncertainty, as the White House voices tepid support for an ACA repeal effort and opposition to a bipartisan bill to shore up insurance markets.”

Median U.S. Household Income Up for 2nd Straight Year
The New York Times

The New York Times reports, “American households saw strong income growth last year, the bureau reported, and the gains stretched across the economic spectrum. A closely watched measure, median household income, jumped for the second straight year, reaching $59,039 — a 3.2 percent increase after inflation.”

U.S. job openings at record high; qualified workers scarce 
Reuters

Reuters reports, “Job openings, a measure of the labor demand, increased by 54,000 to a seasonally adjusted 6.2 million.  That was the highest level since the data series started in December 2000.  Job openings have now been above 6 million for two straight months.”
