House Republicans are moving forward with plans for a new attempt to repeal President Barack Obama's health care law.
The House Rules Committee announced Thursday that it will meet at 5 p.m. Monday to discuss the "Repeal of Obamacare Act" — the GOP's response to the Supreme Court ruling that upheld the law.
Minutes after the court announced its decision last week, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) vowed to hold a repeal vote the week of July 9. The Rules Committee meeting is a precursor to such a vote.
House Republicans have tried before to repeal the law, but those efforts have died — as this one likely will — in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
