Card Check Petition

Help Protect Freedom and Privacy in Your Workplace

Desperate to find new members and collect new union dues, labor unions have hatched a scheme known as "Card Check".  Unions want to take away workers' ability to choose whether to join a union through secret ballot elections - where workers can decide confidentially and in private.

Instead, union bosses want to force workers to publicly sign union authorization cards.  Union organizers could approach workers anywhere to ask them to sign, even at home at night.  Once a majority of workers at a facility have been "persuaded" to sign these cards, the union is certified and can start taking union dues out of their paychecks.

Unions are gathering 1 million signatures on a petition demanding that Congress pass Card Check and get rid of secret ballot elections.  Your elected officials need to hear your voice, too!

Take a moment to sign the Petition - Building Union Power on the Backs of Workers.  We will make sure Congress hears your view, and we'll send you a bumper sticker (below) so your friends and neighbors know you want to protect freedom and privacy in the workplace.

Yes, I agree with the Chamber that the ability of a worker to make an informed, confidential decision about a critical matter affecting their workplace should not be compromised.

I support secret ballot elections as the best way for workers to decide whether or not they want to be represented by a union in their workplace. Secret ballots, a basic tenet of our democratic process, should not be cast aside in favor of the public "Card Check" system.

Card Check invites coercion, intimidation, and harassment of workers by union organizers because they will know who has signed a card and who has not. Small businesses, the engine of our economy, will also be vulnerable to an onslaught of union organizing. Card Check is bad policy for the American worker and should be opposed.
